A silent protest by Hindu students at Rutgers University challenged a lecture that linked Hindutva with extremism, arguing it conflated Hindu cultural identity with political ideology and created a hostile climate on campus. The incident sparked national debate, with U.S. lawmakers urging the university to ensure academic freedom does not become a pretext for bias against Hindu Americans.
The article warns that Hindu Americans risk losing their cultural and intellectual future by internalizing anti-Hindu narratives and neglecting serious investment in humanities and social sciences. Over 100 antique gold coins, believed to date back to the Chola era, were discovered in a mud pot during renovation work at an ancient Sivan temple near Javvadu Hills in Tamil Nadu.
Nine devotees, including eight women and a child, were killed and 17 injured in a stampede at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy “Mini Tirupati” temple in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, during Ekadashi celebrations. The tragedy occurred due to overcrowding at the under-construction temple with a single exit.
An ancient inscription found in Mysuru’s Mahalingeshwara Temple has revealed it to be a thousand years old, built during the Ganga dynasty, correcting earlier beliefs that it was only 200–300 years old.
