United States of America

California’s SB 509, framed as protecting diaspora communities from “transnational repression,” risks legitimizing profiling of Indian American and Hindu groups under the guise of curbing “foreign interference,” while ignoring real threats from Khalistani extremists who have targeted Hindu temples. Hindu advocacy groups warn that the bill undermines free speech and civil rights and are urging a veto to protect the dignity and safety of Hindu communities in California.

A US-based Hindu rights group condemned Peter Navarro’s “profiteering Brahmins” remark as a recycled colonial trope, calling it Hinduphobic and a reckless attack on Hindu dignity. HinduPACT’s AHAD urged Trump to remove Navarro, stressing that such rhetoric weaponizes prejudice against Hindus rather than serving foreign policy.

Congressman Suhas Subramanyam denounced the spate of attacks on Hindu temples in the US, calling them part of a rising hate trend against Hindus and earning praise from Hindu advocacy groups.

An Indian man who recently moved to Dubai marveled at the Ganga Aarti at Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Hindu Mandir, showcasing its serene rituals and its role in preserving Indian culture abroad.

India

The Rajasthan Assembly passed an anti-conversion Bill to prevent forced or induced religious conversions, particularly among poor, tribal, and underprivileged communities.

Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, accompanied by his wife and official entourage, offered prayers at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya, revered as the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Their visit highlight Bhutan–India cultural and spiritual ties.

During his Ayodhya visit, Bhutan PM Tobgay offered prayers at the Ram Mandir and other prominent temples of Ayodhya, receiving a grand welcome from Indian officials.

Six people died after a cargo ropeway cable snapped near the Pavagadh Hill temple in Gujarat’s Panchmahal district, prompting rescue operations. The temple is situated at a height of around 800 metres, with pilgrims either choosing to climb some 2000 steps or use cable cars to reach the summit.

the Puri Jagannath Temple Administration has strongly objected to ISKCON’s unscriptural timing of Rath Yatra, stressing the need to uphold sacred traditions that protect the sanctity of Lord Jagannath’s worship.
